Course Overview

The “Finance for Non-Finance” course aims to provide non-finance rofessionals with a comprehensive understanding of finance and accounting principles. Participants will understand the strategic significance of financial literacy in their daily job performance and how it contributes to the overall organizational performance. The course will develop participants’ skills in planning and investment decisions, including project valuation techniques, budget development, rolling forecasts, and plans monitoring and assessment.

Participants will learn to make informed investment decisions, manage financial resources effectively, and support the synergy across various contributors in the organization. Overall, the course equips non-finance professionals with the necessary knowledge, skills, and understanding to contribute to their organization’s financial management and decision-making processes.

Participants will benefit from updated knowledge and applied practical skills in financial accounting and budgeting in the context of public sector organizations. Course Objectives

  • An overview & Introduction to Fields of Accounting; Financial, Managerial, & Cost Accounting.
  • Comprehend basic accounting concepts, such as accrual and cash basis, capital expenditure, operating expenditures, fixed and variable costs, and activity-based costing.
  • Understand the key financial statements, including the income statement, statement of cash flows, and balance sheet.
  • Being able to analyze the financial statements to evaluate the organization’s financial performance and position using different types of financial analysis.
  • Understand Balanced Scorecard as a managerial tool to evaluate organizational performance in accordance with management vision
  • Develop skills in planning and investment decisions to be able to use project valuation techniques such as NPV, profitability index, and payback.

 

Training Language

The Presentation, supplied documents, workshop exercises and case study during program will be in English. however, based on the trainees’ desires, use of bilingual (English and Arabic) for oral explanation is available
